Racing Club Ferrol secured a hard-fought victory against Real Zaragoza at the Estadio A Malata on Thursday, with Alvaro Gimenez's second-half header proving to be the decisive moment in the game.
The win lifted Racing Ferrol to seventh place in the LaLiga 2 standings with 12 points, while Real Zaragoza maintained their lead at the top of the table despite the defeat, thanks to Espanyol's loss.
The only goal of the game came in the 65th minute when Gimenez rose highest to meet a cross from Carlos Vicente and power a header into the top corner. Real Zaragoza pushed for an equalizer in the closing stages but were unable to find a way past a resolute Racing Ferrol defense.
