PARIS -- The extravagant opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics has caused fury, with critics condemning a parody of Leonardo Da Vinci's famous fresco "The Last Supper" featuring drag queens.
The display, which featured drag queens representing the 12 apostles, sparked outrage among some viewers who accused organizers of disrespecting religious beliefs.
However, many others praised the ceremony for its inclusivity and its celebration of diversity.
The opening ceremony also received rave reviews for its performances by Gojira, Lady Gaga, and Celine Dion, who drew particular praise from critics.
