The Competition

The women's beach volleyball tournament at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, United Kingdom, took place between July 28 and August 8. Twenty-four teams from around the world competed for the gold medal. The tournament was won by the United States team of Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings, who defeated the Brazilian team of Juliana Felisberta da Silva and Larissa França in the final.

The bronze medal was won by the Chinese team of Xue Chen and Zhang Xi, who defeated the Austrian team of Doris Schwaiger and Stefanie Schwaiger in the bronze medal match.
